The Oprah Effect on KFC Public Relations (PR)
Oprah announced the KFC Grilled Chicken Giveway on her show recently. The effect on KFC and KFC’s public relation (PR) was huge. Google searches for “kfc” spiked to a high yesterday after the Oprah KFC giveway announcement.
Consumers were sent to a website to download the coupon and redeem instore. The KFC restaurants were apparently making it hard on consumers to try to use these free KFC coupons. I am not sure if anyone has “unthink” what they thought of KFC after this disaster on KFC public relations (PR). The NPR has reported on the difficulties on getting the KFC offer. I guess the Internet does work after all.
