There was a fire across Golden West College this afternoon, causing a transformer to blow.  The fire was located in the Del Taco shopping center.  Huntington Beach sent several fire engines to put out this fire near Golden West College.

This fire caused a power outage in the area in and around Golden West College.  Traffic lights were out in the area.  Apparently this power outage caused Golden West College to shutdown and close for the day on May 7th, 2009.  Golden West College should have emergency generators to run classes next time.

I found out where people who drive poor fuel economy cars gas up, they pick Arco because Arco is considerably cheaper than where I normally gas up.  I think this is an Arco in Anaheim.  Arco sells cheap gas because its poor quality gas.  I like to overpay for my gas and get it from Chevron.

I highly recommend not sitting to this lady pictured on any flight (the one with the headphones)!  She made it miserable for several passengers on Lufthansa Flight 452 from Munich (Munchen) to LAX last Friday.  She went into a frenzy when the airlines double-booked her seat.  She went berserk before and during the departing prep from Munich.  There is also hearsay that she was inconsiderate to many passengers around her after the flight attendants attended to her needs.  If she was in the US, the US air marshals would have arrested her for interfering with flight attendants.

I took a trip to Edeka yesterday and was instantly shocked before I even stepped into the store.  You have to pay 10 cents in Euros just to get a shopping cart!

A fair observation is Edeka is bigger than the trip to Rewe.  At least Rewe did not charge for shopping carts.

UPDATE:  Apparently the charge is not actually a charge, but a deposit to get you to return the shopping cart back in its place.

Here is a quick trip to Rewe Supermarket in Holzkirchen and a comparison of products with what the US supermarkets would carry.

Coke is sold in different liter increments than the US.  Coke is also bottled locally in Deutschland (Germany).

Rewe also stocked Kellogg’s cereal like back at home.  The twist was Nestle also had cereal, which I don’t see in the US.

And lastly Cottonelle toilet paper is also sold in Rewe.  The twist is Cottonelle toilet paper goes by Hakle.

The employees in here were grumpy and didnt want pictures being taken.  They chased people down and said ‘forbidden’!  I won’t be doing any purchases around here anytime again.  I do not recommend Rewe in Holzkirchen to anyone!!!
